Work & Strategy Meeting 2022

The Work & Strategy Meeting 2022 took place as a hybrid event on 2–3 April 2022. Originally planned as an in-person gathering, the emergence of a new Corona variant led ANSA to offer regional meet-ups combined with a digital format. 27 participants, including two from Ghana and Nigeria, engaged in discussions on ANSA’s future.

Before the meeting, an extraordinary members’ assembly proposed new members for the Board of Advisors to enh

ance its diversity. A new working group, ANSA Academic, was introduced to focus on academic activities like webinars and symposia. Other working groups included Conference 2022, Photo Exhibition, Communication & Networking, and Media & Live Streaming.

Skills workshops on “Data Protection & Picture Rights,” “Structures of DAAD,” and an open session with BoA member Christoph Kohlmeyer were held. Participants also watched the film Félicité digitally, followed by a lively discussion on single motherhood in Africa.  The second day focused on developing and presenting working group activities for the coming year. Participants in Germany received surprise boxes, adding a personal touch to the hybrid event. The meeting used fewer financial resources than expected and was supported by the DAAD. Plans for a fully physical conference in 2022 were set in motion.
