Work & Strategy Meeting 2025
Looking back, the ANSA Strategy and Work Meeting 2025 in Berlin (April 25–27) turned out to be a true success—full of energy, structure, and inspiring exchanges. After a warm welcome at Marta’s Guesthouse and a stimulating visit to the Futurium, Saturday was dedicated to intensive group work. We rolled up our sleeves and tackled important topics: the upcoming conference on “AI in Education, Research and Business – Opportunities and Challenges for Africa and Europe” was a key focus, sparking lively discussions on how to shape the program and ensure it speaks to both continents. The website and PR group also made great progress, laying out the framework for the new website and defining the format that will make our work and vision more accessible and visible. A highlight of the day was the insightful presentation by Cay Etzold, which offered a strategic overview of the DAAD, examined perceptions and news about Sub-Saharan Africa, reviewed developments in higher education over recent decades, and presented five key considerations for Africa from the FES, providing fresh input and encouraging us to think critically about our next steps. Wrapping up with group presentations, we shared outcomes, clarified responsibilities, and left Berlin not exhausted but energized, with clear goals, a stronger sense of teamwork, and lots of anticipation for the exciting projects ahead.
